Scrap-Happy

Back in October I posted about organizing our home. At that time I packed up all my scrapbook stuff since I hadn't touched in since December 2008. I even contemplated listing it all on ebay or somewhere for sale. But, early in March, I felt like doing nothing else but scrapbook. So, I dug it all out again--revised my table plan so I had more workspace and better ORGANIZING space for everything. Finally, this weekend I got to sit down and do a little creative work. Not bad, I think, for not having touched anything related to scrapbooking for 3 1/2 years!

Lousy photo, but a fun layout. Challenging since I hate green! A self-imposed challenge to make the layout using only what I already owned and with a solid paper as the background. I LOVE patterened papers so use tons of them.

Another self-imposed challenge using a totally neutral background and only stuff in my stash. I still have to finish this one--thread in the buttons and the date in the frame at the top.

Outside and Inside of B's Sweet 16 card. First card I've ever made.

Birthday card for my Mom whose birthday is Wednesday.

Someday I may even learn to take decent photos with a real camera and not with my cheap pre-pay phone.

These are inspiring me too! How hard is it to start? What do I need to buy?

It's not hard at all! I love to look at the online galleries at Two Peas in a Bucket and Scrapbook.com You can do all of it digitally if you want, or order your stuff online. Two Peas has a lot of free videos and youtube will teach you any of it. Next time you go to the Big City find a store! It's like Notebooking for grown ups!! There is no right or wrong!

To buy:
A large self-healing cutting mat
Good exato-knife and blades
Sticky-thingies and other adhesatives that are "acid free"

Punches are nice--simple ones square and circles.

Then paper and print your pictures! I don't buy albums--way, way too expensive. I use binder rings and plastic page protecters in the 12 x 12 page size.

Project Life or Project 365 are other great "entry ways" too. Just google them.

You are a great scrapbooker! I'm very impressed! I fully understand the challenge of using your "stash" -- I try to do that as well. The pages are beautiful, and I'm really glad you got the opportunity to do it again!
