Here in Southern Ohio a few weeks ago we had a lot of rain thanks to Ike! The day after here is what appeared in our yard--a heaven sent opportunity to drag out Comstock's Handbook of Nature Study and have a "Green Hour" or, as dear Charlotte Mason might say, an "Outdoor Hour."
The photos were taken over the next several days. You can see what Ms. Comstock calls a "Fairy Ring" of mushrooms developing in the photos with the house in them. I tried to give some closeups too! My appologies for the poor quality of the photographs--it's a generic disposable camera!
